Robot:
Continue mission testing.

Project:
- 15 minute team meeting to review regional event information and forms. (Coaches, mentors, parents and kids)
- plan to meet waste management to research and share new solution
- Modify Powtoon with new innovative solution
- modify skit to incorporate new innovative solution
- modify or create a new website
- draft poster board material

So we are done everything by 2 PMJ Then, Award ceremony between 3 to 5 PM.

We have a guest mentor (Will) coming to our meeting today  for about 30 minutes and Priya will be there as well, so kids let's take suggestions and guidance from these mentors to build a robot.

Project:
Work on trifold.

Start planning the prototype.

     Agenda for October 16

  1. The team needs to really come up to speed with project and the robot.
  2. In project, we need to have one solid solution to the e-waste problem which will add a value to the community.

       Project:
   -   field trip recap.
   -   brainstorm new project ideas
   -   coaches/ mentors will discuss the project

  • In robot, we need to score more points as this years it is a high scoring robot. So need to come up with a solid strategy. Also create attachments.

Robot:
- document each mission and points
- plan - how many missions
- plan mission strategy (single mission/multiple missions)

  1. Everyone go over the Atec website and read the information
  2. Project team will work with robot team

      Recap of the day
  •          Kids spent some time reading about Atec website and prepare few questions for tomorrow's field trip.
  • All team members spent sometime working with robot , reviewed the programming.
  • Everyone got to try the missions so far programmed. We got few boxes for prototype.
  • We got to watch few videos on some missions and points. One nice video is shared on FLL whatsap group. Have your kids go through that video.
  • Homework for Friday , robotics team to find the planned missions and point list and figure out a plan on what more missions can be attempted.
  • Project team to come up with a picture / model in book for Prototype .

      Project team worked on Website :

  • More details on Home page & added more tabs with links and powtoons.
  • Robot team finished Programming for two  more missions.
      So they are done with four missions until now.
  • They also watched videos on robot doing some multitasking missions.

    The Team visited ISU FLL Meet The Experts event on Oct. 2, 2015 (9 AM - 11 AM).

    Robot : 

    Ask questions with the Specialists of the Robot
    Ask questions with the Specialists of Design Documentation

    Project: 

    Ask questions with Specialist of Reusing of waste
    Ask questions with Specialist of Recycling of waste
    Ask questions with Specialist of Documentation of Project

    Takeaway:

    Review the answers  from the Specialist
    Discuss the answers from the Specialist
    Use the information in the Project and Robot.

    Things to do

    Robot: 
    Read and understand each mission in the Game Manual
    Assemble the motors to the EV3
    Finalized the drive-train ( the system of wheels and motors)

    Project: 
    Brainstorm ideas for solutions
    “New useful applications for the electronics and control system of video game consoles (electronic waste)
    Research on how electronic waste is currently disposed.
    How electronic waste is reused and recycled.

    Takeaway:
    Project team research about useful applications for the electronics and control system of the video game consoles

    Things to do

    Robot:
    Go through the rules in the manual
    Go through all the missions
    Decided the criteria for the missions the team wanted to do.
    Discussed the missions the team were interested in doing
    Organized the missions into 3 categories:
    Pushing
    Pulling
    Placing (with some overlap)
    Start designing and building the robot

    Project: 
    Discuss ideas we have for the project
    Review Homework - Discuss everyone’s ideas
    Narrow down to one problem we’d like to solve
    Brainstorm ideas for solutions
    Finalize problem and solution
    Brainstorm “outreach” research (i.e. interviews, phone calls, etc.)
